Poker, I Hardly Know Her

byshaken·6/13/2026

A Meta Glasses-powered system built at a hackathon that lets you play poker and do homework simultaneously — but the better you perform at one, the worse you do at the other. Uses Ray-Ban Meta Glasses to stream video to a phone, which then runs AI analysis to assist with card recognition. A creative experiment in split-attention gaming built with the Meta Wearables SDK.

How to Run on Ray-Ban Meta

  1. 1Open the Meta View app on your phone and connect to your Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
  2. 2Navigate to the display settings and enable the developer web browser.
  3. 3Enter the web app URL: https://github.com/sahitid/meta-vision-project
  4. 4The app will load directly — no authentication required.
  5. 5Use gestures or voice commands as described in the app's documentation.

The video call relay trick (glasses → phone video call → computer screen) is a creative hack around the lack of a direct glasses-to-PC API. Hacky but legitimately works.

Funniest hackathon project I've seen this year. The intentional penalty mechanic — where poker skill hurts your homework and vice versa — is a surprisingly clever game design choice.
